Virginia Gov. Bob McDonnell has his NCAA tournament bracket filled out. And he has the No. 1-seeded Duke Blue Devils knocking off his beloved Notre Dame Fightin’ Irish in the tournament’s championship game.
As for Virginia teams, he has No. 12 Richmond beating No. 5 Vanderbilt in the first round – and losing to Louisville in the second.
Duke, though, necessarily beats Hampton in the first round. Old Dominion defeats last year’s runner-up Butler before falling to No. 1 seed Pitt, and the governor has George Mason beating Villanova before falling to another No. 1 seed – Ohio State.
And, for the record, he has Virginia Commonwealth University winning its play-in game on Wednesday against USC, but falling to Georgetown right after that.
