Former Vice President Joe Biden said in New Hampshire on Sunday that both he and former President Barack Obama are ready to get back on the campaign circuit to boost Democratic causes.
He was speaking at a Democratic fundraiser, the McIntyre-Shaheen dinner, in Manchester.

“I’m ready to help raise money, recruit candidates, campaign — so is Barack — wherever you want, just let me know,” Biden told the gathering, according to Politico’s Edward-Isaac Dovere.

Obama has been out of the White House for nearly 100 days and has kept a mostly low profile, working on his memoir in French Polynesia. This week he returned to the spotlight, making his first public appearance since the Inauguration during an event in Chicago. It was also reported that he’s lined up for a $400,000 speaking gig in September, and that his speech Monday also earned him the same amount.
Meanwhile there has been some speculation that Biden is mulling a 2020 run for president, after he declined a bid in 2016. Biden denies this is true.
“Guys, I’m not running,” Biden said Sunday. Boos followed.
He is, however, not the first potential 2020 contender to visit early-voting New Hampshire in recent months, following in the footsteps of former presidential candidates Ohio Gov. John Kasich and former Maryland Gov. Martin O’Malley.
Biden also commented on the 2016 election, saying failed Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton “would have made a great president,” according to CNN’s MJ Lee.
He also brought up President Trump.
“Trump was pretty smart. He made it all personal,” Biden said. He also said some no-so-flattering things. “This bile sucked up all the oxygen,” he said.
“We’ve always overcome xenophobia and bigotry … If we do it, we’ll win again,” Biden added.
