The Washington Nationals clinched Game 7 of the World Series on Wednesday night, beating the Houston Astros 6 runs to 2 and winning the team’s first World Series title.
After winning the first two games, the Nationals fell to a 3-2 deficit against the Astros. The Nationals won Game 6 and 7 to take the title home.
A one-run home run by Anthony Rendon and a two-run home run by Howie Kendrick in the top of the 7th gave the Nationals the boost they needed to overcome the Astros after trailing 2-1 going into the inning.
President Trump attended Game 5 of the World Series, during which he was resoundingly booed by those in attendance as many chanted, “Lock him up!” The president also faced criticism for not taking his 13-year-old son, Barron, to the game.
