Chick-fil-A tops the list for customer satisfaction, again

Chick-fil-A is the top-rated fast-food restaurant in an annual survey by the American Customer Satisfaction Index for the fourth year in a row.

The chain restaurant, known for its chicken and good service, topped the survey released Tuesday that measures customer satisfaction for the largest fast-food companies. Chick-fil-A scored 86% customer satisfaction on the survey.

The next-placed restaurant, actually a group of smaller fast-food joints not explicitly named on the list, scored a combined 82%. Panera Bread came in third with 81%.

Chick-fil-A’s customer satisfaction score dropped a point from last year, but “the company still demonstrates customer satisfaction dominance,” the study says.

“With its strong satisfaction edge and plans to continue expanding, the chicken specialist could pose a threat to even the largest players in the industry,” the study says.

McDonald’s scored the lowest on the list at 69%. McDonald’s same-store sales nevertheless grew at an average of 4.5% during the first quarter of 2019, higher than a half-dozen competitors analyzed by Restaurant Business.
