Former national security adviser Susan Rice said she would be Joe Biden’s running mate if he asked.
“I certainly would say yes,” Rice told PBS’s Firing Line when asked if she would accept the offer.
“I want to help enable him to become the next president of the United States in any way I can,” she said. “It’s not about me. It’s not about my ambitions. I am not campaigning for anything. But, you know, obviously, if that were the role in which he felt I could best serve, then I’m not going to say no.”
The former vice president has vowed to select a woman as his running mate, with some allies pushing him to pick a Hispanic or black woman.
Other potential candidates include California Sen. Kamala Harris, former Georgia gubernatorial candidate Stacey Abrams, Minnesota Sen. Amy Klobuchar, Massachusetts Sen. Elizabeth Warren, and Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer.
