Las Vegas Raiders player Henry Ruggs was released from the Raiders organization Tuesday and appeared in court Wednesday facing multiple charges after the wide receiver was allegedly involved in a car crash that killed one person.

Ruggs, 22, was reportedly driving a Chevrolet Corvette at about 156 mph on Tuesday morning when he collided with a Toyota RAV4, according to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department.
Police arrived on the scene to find the Toyota aflame, and firefighters removed the dead victim, a 23-year-old woman, from the vehicle, authorities said.
