| You might not know it, but multipaneled, wordy cartoons like this are often harder to draw and take a lot longer to complete. My imagination is more attuned to images, so when I choose to write a lot of words in a cartoon, I can get myself in a jam. But I haven’t drawn a multipaneled ‘toon in a while, so I gave it shot to liven up the mix.
If you can’t tell, I tend to lean libertarian on a lot of issues. Yes, I understand that smoking is bad for your health. But what about alcohol? Are the P.C. Police going to fight for a ban on daiquiris in your local watering hole? Will they start a crusade against cabernet while dining out? We should hope not. Ah, but you say that smoking hurts the health of bystanders, right? Well, just look at the other numbers. How many drunken driving deaths does the United States see every year? I think that if you want to go out to a bar to do shots with friends and kill your liver (or possibly someone else on the ride home), you shouldn’t be worrying about your lungs. If you don’t want to go to a place that allows smoking, go to another establishment that bans it. But keep the government out of it. |
