A bicyclist was killed after being struck by two vehicles, D.C. police said.
David Haywood Williams was hit by a 2004 Chevy Suburban while riding in the 1400 block of Southern Avenue, SE.
The driver left the scene unaware that anyone had been struck, but did return to the scene.
After being hit by the Suburban, Williams was struck by a second vehicle. The occupants of the second vehicle fled the scene once D.C. EMS personnel arrived, police said.
Mr. Williams was transported to Prince George’s County Hospital and pronounced dead.
The driver of the Suburban did not sustain any injuries and was transported to the Major Crash Unit pending investigation, which is still ongoing, police said.
