Brown might turn in keys to luxury SUV

A spokeswoman for D.C. Council Chairman Kwame Brown said he is looking into returning a luxury sport utility vehicle the city has leased for his use, following an initial story about the nearly $2,000-per-month Lincoln Navigator in the Washington City Paper on Jan. 24 and a follow-up Sunday in the Washington Post. Brown rejected the first Navigator the city leased for him because the seats weren’t the color he wanted, the Post reported. The city’s still paying for that Navigator, according to the Post, and it’s now in a pool of vehicles used by city workers. Brown spokeswoman Traci Hughes said the council chairman will have the Navigator he’s using returned if it makes financial sense to do so.
