Presumptive Republican nominee Donald Trump offered up a very Trumpian take Saturday when asked about the possibility of Texas seceding from the United States in the wake of the United Kingdom’s Thursday vote to leave the European Union.
Trump said that that will never happen because “Texas loves me.”
“Texas will never do that because Texas loves me,” he said while at his golf course in Aberdeen. “Texas would never do that if I’m president.”
Trump openly praised the decision to leave the EU hours after it happened, telling reporters at Turnberry on Friday that was the right call and the British will enjoy having their independence when all is said and done.
