THE SENTENCE: A Utah banker who pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor is sentenced to prison for three months for his role in an Internet poker prosecution that shut down the U.S. operations of three card-dealing companies.

JUDGE’S REMARKS: He says the sentence was “extremely lenient.” He told the banker that although he might not have made much money personally, it was a “greed-driven crime” nonetheless.

ABOUT THE MAN: John Campos was SunFirst Bank’s vice chairman and was on its board when he agreed to process $200 million in gambling proceeds. Campos pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor bank gambling charge.
