Connecticut teacher allegedly took dozens of up-skirt photos of female students’ ‘buttocks, chest, or vaginal areas’

A former teacher was arrested Monday after allegedly taking dozens of up-skirt photos of female students, police said.

Christian Stevenson, 52, of Vernon, Connecticut, was charged with importing child pornography, second-degree illegal possession of child pornography, eight counts of voyeurism, four counts of voyeurism with a child younger than 16, four counts of risk of injury to a minor, and nine counts of disorderly conduct, according to a report.

Local police were alerted by state police over the summer that the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children received a tip that flagged content was being sent over email by someone in Connecticut, according to three arrest warrant affidavits.

Police reviewed 48 images of underage girls who were nude or partly nude.

Nine of the photos qualified as child pornography, according to state statutes.

The investigation led to Stevenson, whom police were able to connect to the images. They discovered more recent photos taken of children in stores, resorts, and on the street. Hundreds of pictures appeared to be of students at Stevenson’s school, according to the arrest warrant.

“The focus of the photographs were the buttocks, chest, or vaginal areas of young female students,” the warrant stated. “None of the students appeared to have any idea they were being photographed.”

Stevenson is in police custody and was placed on a $300,000 bail. He was set on administrative leave from teaching as soon as school officials learned about the investigation, and he resigned later that day, said Joseph Macary, Vernon’s superintendent of schools.

The Washington Examiner reached out to Rockville High School for comment but did not immediately receive a response.
