A Massachusetts woman who posed as a health aide to steal personal items and jewelry from seniors in living facilities across the state has been arrested, authorities said Tuesday.
Anne Rose Fleurant, 36, has been taken into custody and is facing charges that include identity fraud, receiving a stolen credit card, and improper use of a credit card, Randolph Police Chief Anthony Marag said.
A formal inquiry into Fleurant began in March after a senior facility resident said their jewelry was missing, according to a report. The resident’s credit card had also been stolen and used to purchase department store goods.

A string of similar thefts was uncovered at senior facilities in Randolph, Quincy, Braintree, Weymouth, Cohasset, and Westwood, police said.
Fleurant’s possessions were searched, and jewelry, handbags, personal checks, and identification cards for 12 different healthcare agencies were found, according to authorities.
“It is clear that many of the recovered items are unique, personalized, and meaningful,” Marag said.
Several victims of Fleurant reportedly have dementia, and many victims may be unaware they have been stolen from, police said.
