SACRAMENTO, Calif. (AP) — The tragic case of an elderly woman who died after a nurse at her independent living facility refused to perform CPR has prompted the nation’s largest assisted living trade group to call for change.

The Assisted Living Federation of America said Tuesday that even if facilities have policies saying employees don’t perform CPR, they should cooperate if asked to by 911 dispatchers.
