Fox News host Dana Perino slammed Democratic reactions to allegations of sexual assault against presidential candidate Joe Biden.
On Wednesday, Perino, former press secretary to President George W. Bush, chided House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and other Democrats for dismissing sexual assault allegations brought forth by Tara Reade, a former Biden staffer.
“They’re just going to move on. They’re going to point to Joe Biden’s interview and say that’s all they need. And they are going to be quite comfortable with that,” Perino began, alluding to Biden’s denial of the allegations during an interview with MSNBC’s Morning Joe host Mika Brzezinski.
However, Perino further commented on the long-term impacts of Democrats’ choice to no longer adhere to the widely popularized mantra “believe women” during the height of the #MeToo movement.
“The bigger picture is that the #MeToo movement has collapsed under the weight of the Democrats’ hypocrisy. But that will be the consequence that they face,” Perino said, prompting an audible reaction from co-host Greg Gutfeld.
“Wow,” Gutfeld said in agreement.
Biden was recently accused of sexual assault by Reade, who was his Senate aide from 1992 to 1993. According to Reade, Biden ran his hand underneath her skirt and penetrated her with his fingers at the time. Biden has denied the claim.
