President Trump declared that the U.S. “cannot stand” for the immigration policies of House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., and Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y., in a Saturday tweet.
“It’s very sad that Nancy Pelosi and her sidekick, Cryin’ Chuck Schumer, want to protect illegal immigrants far more than the citizens of our country,” Trump tweeted Saturday, following a week of national outrage over immigration and family separation at the southern border.

Rep. Pelosi skewered the GOP on Thursday for a lack of compromise when it comes to immigration policy, suggesting that they would rather do a deal “with the devil” than work with Democrats.
