John Kasich: Republicans ‘not right’ to threaten war against North Korea

Republican Ohio Gov. John Kasich said threats made by President Trump and Sen. Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., toward North Korea were counterproductive in stabilizing the rogue country.

In an interview Sunday on NBC’s “Meet the Press,” Kasich argued for more sanctions against North Korea, including ones that would place economic pressure on China.

“You need to squeeze them,” he said, adding that hostile language from Trump and the GOP “is just not right and I don’t think is correct foreign policy.”

On Thursday, Sen. Lindsey Graham said said that “time is running out” to neutralize the threat of nuclear war with North Korea.

He also said there was a “70 percent” chance Trump would use a “military option” against the country if it were to test more nuclear bombs.
