Mayor Adrian Fenty’s goodbye tour will continue Thursday with his unveiling of new headquarters for the District’s Department of Employment Services.
Earlier this week he announced plans for modernizing two high schools.
Fenty defined his administration as one that was results oriented. But it became increasingly clear during his re-election bid this past summer that he failed to gather community support for his efforts. That failing ended with Vince Gray being elected as the city’s next mayor.
Now, as Fenty wraps up his final days in office – Gray is scheduled to be sworn in Jan. 2 – he’s making his final rounds as the ribbon-cutting mayor he was known to be.
