Top Five: Likeliest teams to be an NFL dynasty

Ignoring that all the Philadelphia Eagles’ talent on paper wasn’t guaranteed to translate into wins on the field last year — and didn’t — Michael Vick told Comcast SportsNet Philadelphia that he thinks they “have a chance to develop a dynasty.” Really? Here are five teams with a better chance:

5. New England Patriots » There won’t be a new era in New England until Tom Brady retires. He has been to the Super Bowl five times. That’s the closest thing the NFL has to a dynasty right now.

4. Pittsburgh Steelers » They have missed the playoffs just twice in the last eight years, winning the Super Bowl twice and losing it once during that stretch. Only injuries have prevented them from doing more.

3. San Francisco 49ers » Expectations are massive this year, and here’s where they’re different than in Philadelphia: They’re based on results, an impressive 13-3 season and a team, under coach Jim Harbaugh, that could be even better than a year ago.

2. New York Giants »

Not only are the only team in the past six years with more than one Super Bowl title, the Giants just happen to be in the same division as the Eagles and have a better quarterback in Eli Manning. Vick owns three wins over New York in the past two seasons, but the Giants have the trophies.

1. Green Bay Packers » Aaron Rodgers and crew were upset by the Giants in the divisional playoffs last year but still put up a 15-1 season the year after winning Super Bowl XLV. The Packers are still the most feared team in the NFL.
