Clinton’s June fundraisers have already raked in over $34 million

Presumtive Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton raised over $34 million this month from fundraisers alone, according to an estimate, placing her in a strong position going in to the general election.

According to the CNN estimate, Clinton headlined 18 high-profile fundraisers in eight states during June. During stops in Colorado and California last Tuesday, she raised $4 million alone.

Now that the presumptive Democratic nominee is officially turning her attention to general-election fundraising, primary campaign donors that maxed out their $2,700 contribution can now give an additional $2,700.

Also, Clinton is now fundraising via joint fundraising agreements, through the Hillary Action Fund and the Hillary Victory Fund, with the Democratic National Committee and various state parties. These agreements allow donors to give more than $500,000 to various Democratic coffers that flow to the Clinton campaign.

In the beginning of June, the Clinton campaign had $42 million in the bank, whereas the Donald Trump campaign had just $1.3 million. But, this was before Trump kicked his fundraising arm into operation. In the three days after his campaign began soliciting donations, they reportedly raised $11 million.

The Trump campaign has yet to reveal their month’s totals, but the Clinton campaign is using the specter of a big Trump haul to motivate potential donors.

“If this is a sign of things to come, then Trump is going to be a tougher opponent than anyone thought, and I’ll guaran-damn-tee you that we all better take that seriously,” Clinton strategist James Carville wrote in a fundraising email to supporters on Tuesday evening, referring to Trump’s recent fundraising successes.

“Hillary’s facing a huge FEC deadline on Thursday, and she needs her team, to quote our opponent, to step up ‘bigly.'”
