Obama golfed in Hawaii as Trump was impeached

Former President Barack Obama played a round of golf on vacation in Hawaii while House Democrats impeached President Trump.

A frequent vacationer in the state where he was born, Obama was spotted at the Mid-Pacific Country Club on Wednesday wearing a magenta polo and white shorts and golf cap. The golf club is “a private club nestled in the world-renowned community of Lanikai on Oahu’s picturesque windward side. The first class golf course has hosted some of the world’s finest golfers, prestigious golf tournaments and U.S. Presidents,” according to its website.

The 44th president was an avid golfer during his tenure in the White House, golfing 333 times. The number was the most by any president since Dwight Eisenhower, who golfed about 800 times. Having golfed 228 times since his inauguration, Trump is on track to surpass Obama’s record if he wins a second term.

Obama’s vacation comes two weeks after his family dropped nearly $12 million on a mansion in Martha’s Vineyard. The Obamas purchased the 29-acre property with a 7,000-square-foot home from Boston Celtics owner Wyc Grousbeck after renting the house last summer. The Obamas also own an $8.1 million home in Washington, D.C.
