Sen. Tim Scott of South Carolina is expected to launch his candidacy for the GOP nomination in the 2024 presidential race.
Scott is expected to make his campaign announcement in his hometown of North Charleston, South Carolina, Monday morning at his alma mater, Charleston Southern University.

Scott filed the paperwork to enter to race last week with the Federal Election Commission, about a month after setting up an exploratory committee for a 2024 run. Scott’s announcement is scheduled to begin at 11:15 a.m.
