Free meals for veterans

Homeless veterans will receive a free meal this Veterans Day in appreciation for their service to the country.

The Church of the Epiphany in Northwest plans to provide 300 meals from noon to 3 p.m. Thursday.

The event is part of the church’s Sunday morning breakfast program, which provides meals to the homeless each week.

The church is also asking for donations to fund the meals, which cost $25 each.

Area residents who would like to donate can do so by visiting secure.qgiv.com/cps_donors/index.php?key=epiphany and selecting “veteran dinner” as the donation type.  Checks can be made out to the church and sent to 1317 G St. NW., 20005.
