Trump returns to NYC following New Year’s bash

President-elect Trump is returning to New York City Sunday evening following a New Year’s Eve bash he attended in Palm Beach, Fla., while President Obama returned from a 17-day vacation in Hawaii.

With just three weeks left until Inauguration Day, Trump and Obama will each be in place to complete work on the transition.

Trump spent New Year’s Eve at Mar-a-Lago, a members-only private resort he owns in Palm Beach, Fla., where tickets for the holiday event cost a reported $500 each. The president-elect told reporters on Saturday that he looked forward to getting to work on Monday. “We’re having some great success, right here. We’re picking a lot of great people to run our government,” he said.

Obama has been in Hawaii, his home state, since Dec. 16, spending time with his wife and kids as well as also playing several rounds of golf. He also visited with troops at a Marine base on Christmas Day and met with Japanese Prime Minister Abe during an historic memorial to the Americans killed during the Dec. 7, 1941 Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor.
