Students protesting gun violence outside of Paul Ryan’s office arrested by Capitol Police

Eight Maryland students were arrested for protesting gun violence outside House Speaker Paul Ryan’s office on Friday.

The students were protesting hours after 10 people were killed and 10 more wounded at a high school shooting in Santa Fe, Texas. They were arrested on charges of “crowding, obstructing, or incommoding,” the U.S. Capitol Police confirmed to HuffPost.

The students are members of the Montgomery County Students for Gun Control.

David Hogg, a survivor of February’s school shooting in Parkland, Fla. and gun control activist, tweeted his support of the protest.
