San Francisco State University professor Frank Bayliss will be honored at the White House for mentoring minority students in science.
Bayliss is expected to receive the Presidential Award for Excellence in Science, Mathematics and Engineering Mentoring this fall.
In 1992, Bayliss created the Student Enrichment Program, which provides mentoring, research opportunities, financial support and extra hours of teaching.
