BLM protesters surround white NYC diners and demand they leave the city

A group of Black Lives Matter protesters interrupted white outdoor diners at a New York City restaurant, telling them to “get the f— out of New York.”

“New York: #BLM protesters tell white people dining outside to ‘get the f— out of New York’ & that their white-owned taquerias aren’t welcome,” reported Andy Ngo on Twitter. “The crowd chant along.”

Ngo included a video that showed a group of protesters surrounding the outdoor dining area of what appeared to be a Mexican restaurant, with one protester leading chants of “we don’t want you here.”

This isn’t the first time BLM protesters have targeted diners. In August, protesters targeted white diners in Washington, D.C., after the police shooting of Jacob Blake. The following month, BLM protesters targeted white diners in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and Rochester, New York.

Protests broke out across the country Tuesday after former Minneapolis police officer Derek Chauvin was convicted of second-degree murder in the death of George Floyd last May. While the verdict was a welcome one for many, others claimed that it was just the start of a broader movement to reform policing in America.

DEREK CHAUVIN DIDN’T GET AMERICAN JUSTICE, HE GOT SOCIAL JUSTICE

“That a family had to lose a son, brother and father; that a teenage girl had to film and post a murder, that millions across the country had to organize and march just for George Floyd to be seen and valued is not justice,” Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez said of the verdict.

“And this verdict is not a substitute for policy change,” Ocasio-Cortez continued.

President Joe Biden seemingly agreed with that sentiment Tuesday.

“No one should be above the law, and today’s verdict sends that message,” Biden said in an address after the verdict was revealed.

“But it’s not enough,” Biden continued. “We can’t stop here. In order to deliver real change and reform, we can and we must do more to reduce the likelihood that a tragedy like this will ever happen to occur again. To ensure the Black and brown people — or anyone — so they don’t fear the interactions with law enforcement, that they don’t have to wake up knowing that they can lose their very life in the course of just living their life.”
