Sen. Mitt Romney said he tested negative for the coronavirus after interacting with Sen. Rand Paul, whose test came back positive.
Romney, who is at his home in Utah, said he would remain in self-quarantine at the guidance of his doctor.
“Nevertheless, guidance from my physician, consistent with the CDC guidelines, requires me to remain in quarantine as the test does not rule out the onset of symptoms during the 14-day period,” he tweeted Tuesday.
Thankfully I’ve tested negative for COVID-19. Nevertheless, guidance from my physician, consistent with the CDC guidelines, requires me to remain in quarantine as the test does not rule out the onset of symptoms during the 14-day period.

Romney and Sen. Mike Lee took a private plane back to Utah, wearing N-95 masks and sitting 6 feet apart.
He said family members have been bringing him food, and his wife, Ann, who has multiple sclerosis, has been staying elsewhere while the Republican senator is quarantined at their home.
“My daughter-in-law brought me some food and put it outside the front door,” Romney said. “My son Josh brought over tons of food. He went to Costco this morning and brought in all sorts of supplies for me: ramen, rice, beans, peanut butter, hotdogs, hamburger — all of my favorite food groups.”
