While discussing the United States’ trade imbalance with Mexico, presumptive Republican nominee Donald Trump noted a plane flying above and told supporters that it could be a Mexican one and that they are “getting ready to attack.”
Trump, who was appearing in Manchester, N.H., to talk about trade, made the remark after ticking off the trade imbalances the U.S. has with various nations, including China and Japan, before launching into how Mexico and its leaders are doing a number on the U.S.’s leaders.
“Mexico, I respect Mexico. I respect their leaders. What they’ve done to us is incredible. Their leaders are so much smarter, so much sharper, and it’s incredible,” Trump said, pointing up in the sky to a plane flying overhead.
“That could be a Mexican plane up there. They’re getting ready to attack,” he quipped.
