It’s official: Ted Cruz is running for president. He made the announcement shortly after midnight on Twitter. “I’m running for President and I hope to earn your support!”
The announcement included a 30-second web ad:

Cruz is expected to make an in-person announcement Monday at Liberty University in Virginia.
The Republican presidential candidate released this longer video talking about how his biography:
“My mom was a pioneer in computer science, smashing glass ceilings at a time when women were discouraged from following their dreams,” says Cruz.
