Who: National Endowment for the Arts What: Rocco Landesman’s NEA gave a $50,000 grant to fund the Fermentation Fest in Reedsburg, Wis., an event hosted by the Wormfarm Institute to “celebrate all things brined and brewed.”
Why it’s an outrage: The Wormfarm Institute, as a private nonprofit, can pursue its goal of “building thriving communities through the arts and sustainable agriculture” the way other nonprofits pursue their goals — by finding donors to pay for their own beer and cheese parties.
