Metro plans to close the Navy Yard Metro stop five hours early on Saturday, shuttering the station at 10 p.m. instead of 3 a.m. for a security drill.
Green Line trains will continue to pass through the station during the drill but will not stop, the transit agency said Monday.
Riders who use that station can take a free shuttle bus between Navy Yard and Waterfront stations. They should tack on 15 minutes of additional travel time, according to Metro.
Navy Yard Metro riders should also note that the Half Street entrance will close around 7 p.m. Saturday and remain closed until 12:30 p.m. Sunday. Riders should use the New Jersey Avenue entrance instead. The rest of the station will open at 7 a.m. Sunday as usual.
People in the area may also notice road closures to make way for the drill, which involves the FBI and other agencies.
Fortunately, there are no home baseball games nearby this weekend as the Nationals play the Orioles in Baltimore.
