“The View” co-host Meghan McCain told fans Monday if she was missing from their TV screens in the coming months, it’s because she’s “hanging out” with her father Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., as he fights an aggressive form of brain cancer.
“I’m going to be coming back and forth a little bit, so just know, if I’m not here, I’m just hanging out with my dad and my mom,” Meghan McCain said during Monday’s episode of the ABC daytime talk show, also referring to her mother, Cindy McCain.

Meghan McCain, who was absent from the New York-based program Wednesday and Thursday, said the senator was “doing well” after undergoing surgery for an intestinal infection in Phoenix, Ariz., April 15.
“I want to thank everyone at Mayo Clinic, especially his doctors and nurses. I think it just takes a really special person to become a doctor or a nurse because I could never do it and it’s a really amazing thing,” she added.
John McCain was diagnosed with glioblastoma in July.
