Trump letter to George Conway in 2006 praised him as a lawyer

President Trump sent conservative lawyer George Conway a glowing letter more than a decade ago praising his skills as a lawyer.

The letter was published by the Washington Post on Tuesday as the feud between the two men culminated in Trump calling Conway, the husband to one of his top White House advisers, “a total loser.”

“I wanted to thank you for your wonderful assistance in ridding Trump World Tower of some very bad people,” Trump wrote to Conway amid a condo board dispute in April 2006.

“What I was most impressed with was how quickly you were able to comprehend a very bad situation,” the letter continued. “Again, I very much appreciate your assistance … And, you have a truly great voice, certainly not a bad asset for a top trial lawyer!”

Conway is married to and has four children with White House counselor Kellyanne Conway. Despite his wife’s employment, Conway has been a frequent critic of the president’s.

He most recently questioned Trump’s mental stability, suggesting Trump has narcissistic personality disorder and antisocial personality disorder, by tweeting out excerpts from the American Psychiatric Association’s Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders.

Trump’s 2020 campaign manager claimed Monday that the president “doesn’t even know” Conway. Trump echoed the sentiment when he called Conway a “loser” on Tuesday.
