President Trump on Monday accused the Democrats of using the Russia investigation to “wrongfully impact” the 2018 midterm elections in November.
“Is this Phony Witch Hunt going to go on even longer so it wrongfully impacts the Mid-Term Elections, which is what the Democrats always intended? Republicans better get tough and smart before it is too late!” Trump tweeted Monday morning.

Some indicate they believe special counsel Robert Mueller will either wrap up the investigation or at least lie low during the midterms so it won’t affect the outcome, the Wall Street Journal reported.
In the past, the Department of Justice would “go dark” on investigations so it does not appear that the prosecution is attempting to sway voters’ decisions.
