Two Metrobuses were involved in an accident Thursday morning in Silver Spring that sent 26 riders —including eight Montgomery Blair High School students — to area hospitals.
A Metrobus traveling eastbound on University Boulevard rear-ended a stopped Metrobus near Burnett Avenue, causing “pretty significant damage” to both buses, according to Montgomery County Assistant Fire Chief Scott Graham.
Of those passengers injured, Graham said 19 had minor injures and seven had slightly more serious but non life-threatening injuries. All of the students involved suffered minor injuries.
Graham said police officials have opened two of three lanes on eastbound University Boulevard, and there are no other closures due to the accident.
