Social media reacts to Antonio Brown’s dramatic exit from the Buccaneers

Social media lit up after a bizarre incident during Sunday’s Tampa Bay Buccaneers win over the New York Jets saw star wide receiver Antonio Brown strip off his gear and apparently quit on his teammates.

“He is no longer a Buc. All right, that’s the end of the story. Let’s talk about the guys that went out there and won the game,” Head Coach Bruce Arians said in a video posted to social media after the game by the Buccaneers.

Brown himself thanked the organization before dropping a new rap song.

“Antonio Brown literally quit on Tom Brady in the middle of a game,” one football analysis account posted. “I absolutely didn’t expect this reaction of immediate sympathy who knows what AB is going thru but credit to Brady, this level of empathy & humanity in the moment is impressive …”

The organization needs to “Put him in a straitjacket and take him to some hospital,” Hall of Fame quarterback Terry Bradshaw said.

“Antonio Brown, six days ago: ‘You guys is all about drama. This is all about football,'” one journalist posted.

“It’s been an eventful last 3 years for Antonio Brown,” another reporter echoed before listing off some of the Super Bowl champion’s more interesting moments.

“This sideline report is incredible. Stadium security thought there was a shirtless fan on the field and intended to tackle him before they realized it was Antonio Brown,” according to one writer who covers the National Football League.

Multiple users have used a clip of George Costanza from the award-winning sitcom Seinfeld to describe the moment.

“[Security] said Antonio Brown ran out of stadium shirtless &!into a police car to be escorted to flight by himself out of town away from the buccaneers! this after he tore off his jersey during game threw his shirt in the stands freaking out,” according to one reporter.

“Praying for Antonio Brown: long chat w/ him pregame. He was all smiles, saying his ankle wasn’t 100%, but he was playing for his team, preparing for postseason w/ his brothers. What happened between that & the 2nd half meltdown? Praying for peace & guidance for him,” one sideline reporter commented.

Several users tried to compare Brown’s actions with those of NFL legend Terrell Owens, but the six-time Pro Bowler didn’t agree.

“Wow. Respectfully and Disrespectfully, there’s no comparison. Clearly you’ve been drinking the kool-aid,” he said.
