Transition team dodges on whether Trump still runs his business

President-elect Trump’s transition aides dodged a question Tuesday about whether the real estate mogul is still involved in the day-to-day operations of his international business empire.

“Obviously, we’re working to get the president-elect ready to take over as president of the United States,” transition spokesman Jason Miller told reporters on a conference call Tuesday.

“We’ll do our best to get you updates as we move along,” Miller added, noting that the plan for the Trump Organization would be made public “as soon as the lawyers have worked through that.”

Trump’s sprawling business holdings and foreign real estate properties present his team with a unique ethics challenge. During the campaign, Trump promised to turn control of the Trump Organization over to his three eldest children.

But Trump’s aides have remained quiet on whether he is still conducting his business affairs, a possibility that has stoked concerns about potential conflicts of interest.

“I’ll let the president-elect speak to that directly,” Miller said when pressed on Trump’s involvement in foreign business operations.
