Sean Hannity hits back at Alec Baldwin over ‘imbecility’ comment

Sean Hannity mocked actor Alec Baldwin’s guest stint as a call-in radio host, a day after the Hollywood star took a shot at the Fox News host in a tweet.

“You don’t need Mueller’s report or Barr’s conflict of interest or Sean Hannity’s imbecility to make clear one unifying thing: Trump is the Devil,” Baldwin tweeted Monday, referring to the report of special counsel Robert Mueller on his investigation into Russian interference in the 2016 presidential election and Attorney General William Barr.

On his TV show Tuesday, Hannity described the tweet as Baldwin “having trouble coming to terms with the Mueller report.”

Hannity then took aim at Baldwin’s onetime attempt as a call-in radio host.

“I have a history with Alec. Hey, Alec, want to go there? Wait till I start playing your audition tapes, when you tried being a radio talk show host,” he said.

Then, speaking with fellow Fox News host Laura Ingraham, Hannity mocked the show for not having any callers.

The two were apparently referring to a 2006 show on Philadelphia’s WPHT in which Alec Baldwin filled in, repeatedly asking for callers and reading a menu. Baldwin later hosted TV talk shows on both MSNBC and ABC, neither of which lasted longer than eight episodes.

Baldwin, a successful actor who often portrays President Trump on “Saturday Night Live,” also hosts “Here’s the Thing,” a podcast and radio show on New York City’s public station WNYC.
