The AP reports that Va. Attorney General Ken Cuccinelli is setting aside $55,000 in donations received from Bobby Thompson, the director of the U.S. Navy Veterans Association.
The nonprofit organization is under investigation for its fundraising and spending. Last month, U.S. Sen. Jim Webb, D-Va., asked the Department of Veterans Affairs to clarify procedures and vetting processes for Veterans Services Organizations in the wake of a multi-state investigation into the group.
