Three Howard County residents have been selected for the fifth annual American Success Awards, presented by the Foreign-born Information Resources Network, Howard County government, the Howard County Economic Development Authority and the county’s Chamber of Commerce.
The winners, who will be honored at an awards dinner on May 9 at the Ten Oaks Ballroom in Clarksville, are:
Sung Kil Lee owns Lotte Plaza in Ellicott City, which primarily leases commercial space to Korean-owned or managed businesses serving the needs of Howard County residents. Lee, who immigrated from South Korea in 1979, is a board member of Care Line, a hotline service for Korean youth in need and abandoned Korean women.
Ifran Malik serves as a director at Preserve Investments, which provides financial and investment advice. Malik immigrated from Pakistan in 1985 and is the president of the Howard County Muslim Council. He also serves as executive director of the National Association of Pakistani Americans.
Wen Pan immigrated from Taiwan in 1981 and is the president of Dynainfo LLC, an environmental consulting business he started in 2005. He is an active member of the Howard County Disaster Action Team and the Leadership Howard County Class of 2007.
