Hillary won last night, which, needless to say, is good for Hillary on many levels. For starters, she doesn’t have to worry that, as the Los Angeles Times reported yesterday, Hollywood “will defect to Barack in droves.”

“It is not a question of loyalty; Barack is simply too close to making history for Hollywood not to be part of it,” [Brian] Quintana said. “For most of us, Hillary was our first choice, but she has come up short. Barack has become a movement.”

Obama has already destroyed Clinton’s inevitably and has to be considered a marginal favorite to win the nomination. Does he really want Hollywood? There’s a lot of money there, but it might be a case of more money, more problems. Despite being far left of Hillary on most issues, Obama’s “new politics” have stopped the press from labeling him a conventional liberal. Which is why I found this so amusing:

Watched the NH returns with some friends last night, and something quite unexpected happened when the AP called it for Clinton — inexplicable ANGER. I was surrounded by people in their early 30’s, registered Democrats, receptive to the Clintons in the 90’s, and I swear I thought someone was going to throw their wine glass at the tube during her ‘victory’ speech. We made a pact last (night) that we all followed through on this morning — logging on to BarackObama.com and donating $100 each to his campaign (this is the first time ANY of us has donated money to a campaign). Oh, and did I mention we’re all New Yorkers?

People who throw their wine glasses at the TV are not going to help Obama win the nomination, nor is their money (they all gave money to Dean in 2004, and it didn’t help him much). Obama needs beer drinkers, and cozying up to Hollywood won’t help him win their support.
