Jimmy Kimmel openly blamed “Apprentice” producer Mark Burnett for the Donald Trump phenomenon at the 2016 Emmy Awards.
“If it wasn’t for television, would Donald Trump be running for president?” Kimmel asked to nervous audience laughter.
He then called out Burnett for giving Trump a platform, which he used to rise to national prominence.
“Thanks to Mark Burnett, we don’t have to watch reality shows anymore, because we’re living in one,” Kimmel quipped.
He facetiously asked Burnett, “Who do you have in line to fill the spot on the Supreme Court, Miley Cyrus or Cee Lo [Green]?”
Finally, he told Burnett exactly what he wanted to see happen if Trump wins the election.
“If Donald Trump gets elected and he builds a wall, the first person we’re throwing over it is Mark Burnett,” he proclaimed. “The tribe has spoken.”
