President Trump took aim at the Washington Post, prolonging an extending Saturday tirade on Twitter, for a story that claims he called Attorney General Jeff Sessions “Mr. Magoo” and Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein “Mr. Peepers.”
“This is ‘according to people with whom the president has spoken.’ There are no such people and don’t know these characters…just more Fake & Disgusting News to create ill will!” Trump said in a tweet.

An article published Friday by the Washington Post reported that “Trump has, at times, referred to Sessions as ‘Mr. Magoo’ and Rosenstein as ‘Mr. Peepers.’”
Mr. Magoo is a 1950’s cartoon character who often found himself in funny situations because of his nearsightedness, causing other characters in the show to find him to be crazy.
Mr. Peepers was a character in the 1950’s sitcom “Mister Peepers.”
The article also reported that Sessions told White House counsel Donald McGahn he would leave his job if Trump fired his deputy.
Trump’s anger at the two men peaked after it was revealed Rosenstein — who appointed and oversees special counsel Robert Mueller — approved the FBI raid on the president’s personal attorney Michael Cohen earlier this year.
Trump has also directed his ire at Sessions, whose recusal from the Russia investigation — dubbed by the president as a “witch hunt” — paved the way for special counsel Robert Mueller’s appointment by Rosenstein. Mueller’s probe led to the recommendation of the raid on Cohen, and that case has since been turned over to the Southern District of New York.
Earlier in the day, Trump condemned the New York Times for its reporting on how his personal lawyer, Michael Cohen, might “flip” on him.
