Griffin has faced intense backlash over a photoshoot in which she was holding President Trump’s severed head. The network announced it’s cutting ties with Griffin in a tweet on Wednesday.
On Tuesday, CNN said it was “evaluating” the role the comedian played in the holiday coverage.
“We found what she did disgusting and offensive,” the network said in a statement.
Griffin apologized Tuesday in a video posted on Twitter, saying she “crossed the line” and report she asked the photographer to take down the photo.
“The image is too disturbing,” she said.
