Police have confirmed a drone crashed into the 40th floor of the Empire State Building late Thursday night, which drew a flock of FBI agents to the scene.
The unmanned aerial vehicle fell to a ledge off the 35th floor, according to law enforcement officials.
A New Jersey man, Sean Nivin Riddle, was arrested at the scene for flying the drone 400 feet in the air in an attempt to take pictures.
Riddle tweeted about his illegal use of the drone. Police say he will face criminal charges despite the suspect’s claims that the crash was unintentional.
