President Trump will host Chinese President Xi Jinping next week at his Mar-a-Lago resort in Florida, the White House said Thursday morning.
Xi will visit Trump on April 6-7, in what will be the first meeting between the two leaders.
“The two leaders will discuss global, regional, and bilateral issues of mutual concern,” White House press secretary Sean Spicer said. “The president and the first lady will also host President Xi and Madame Peng Liyuan at a dinner on the evening of April 6.”
Trump made China a focal point of his campaign, and said that country is one of several that has been beating the U.S. up on trade, and has helped to steal jobs away from the U.S.
