A suspect in Georgia shot the driver of a tractor-trailer heading northbound on Interstate 75 on Wednesday, authorities said.
The tractor-trailer driver was seriously wounded after being shot by the suspect who sped away, according to the Cobb County Police Department.
Officers responded to the scene at roughly 1 p.m and saw the tractor-trailer blocking traffic, according to a report.

All northbound lanes on the highway were closed following the shooting, and an investigation is being conducted into the incident, police said.

The wounded driver was taken to a local hospital for treatment, and officials announced lanes on the interstate have been cleared.
