Nearly 20 Democrats representing districts President Trump won in 2016 are set to vote in favor of two impeachment articles against him.
The House Judiciary Committee voted along party lines last week to move the two articles of impeachment, obstruction of Congress and abuse of power, to the House floor. The impeachment articles, set for a House floor vote on Wednesday, are directly related to Trump pressuring Ukraine officials to dig up political dirt on former Vice President Joe Biden, a top-tier 2020 Democrat.
More members are expected to announce their votes throughout the next two days. Only one House Democrat, Minnesota Rep. Collin Peterson, has said he’ll oppose both counts. Rep. Jeff Van Drew, elected as a Democrat to his House seat in southern New Jersey in 2018, is expected to switch to the Republican Party this week.
Counting Van Drew as a Republican, there are 30 Democratic-held House districts in which Trump beat Hillary Clinton in 2016. The Democratic members who recently announced how they planned to vote are Reps. Colin Allred of Texas, Cindy Axne of Iowa, Anthony Brindisi of New York, Cheri Bustos of Illinois, Matt Cartwright of Pennsylvania, Angie Craig of Minnesota, Jason Crow of Colorado, Joe Cunningham of South Carolina, Sharice Davids of Kansas, Antonio Delgado of New York, Abby Finkenauer of Iowa, Lizzie Fletcher of Texas, Jared Golden of Maine, Josh Gottheimer of New Jersey, Kendra Horn of Oklahoma, Andy Kim of New Jersey, Conor Lamb of Pennsylvania, Susie Lee of Nevada, Dave Loebsack of Iowa, Elaine Luria of Virginia, Ben McAdams of Utah, Lucy McBath of Georgia, Debbie Mucarsel-Powell of Florida, Tom O’Halleran of Arizona, Chris Pappas of New Hampshire, Katie Porter of California, Max Rose of New York, Mikie Sherrill of New Jersey, Elissa Slotkin of Michigan, Abigail Spanberger of Virginia, Haley Stevens of Michigan, Xochitl Torres Small of New Mexico, Lauren Underwood of Illinois, Jennifer Wexton of Virginia, and Susan Wild of Pennsylvania.
