Republican senator Marco Rubio is maintaining a six-point lead against Democratic congressman Patrick Murphy, according to a University of North Florida (UNF) poll released Thursday.
Rubio leads Murphy among likely voters at 49 to 43 percent respectively, the same margin as a UNF poll from earlier this month.
The Republican incumbent benefits from a higher percentage of Democrats voting Republican, 17 percent, than Murphy, who stands at 10 percent support for Republicans voting Democrat.
Rubio is also leading Murphy among men, at 55 to 38 percent, while Murphy is holding on to a slight lead among women, at 46 to 44 percent respectively.
The UNF poll was conducted from October 20 to October 25 by telephone, with 836 registered likely voters.
